Welcome to the online registration for the
Rotary Books4Home Impact Days
This Impact Days project launches on Thursday 5th March (World Book Day) and runs until Tuesday 30th June 2026.
This Impact Days project aims to give children a free book of their own to take home and keep, encouraging their love of reading with family and friends and supporting schools’ literacy programmes. By using good quality pre-read books, this educational initiative also benefits the environment.
This is based on the existing Rotary Books4Home project, run by Rotary Alumni 1210, which has already donated over 230,000 good quality pre-read books to children in Staffordshire, Shropshire and parts of the West Midlands.
Your aim is to collect 200+ pre-read books for your chosen school and to deliver these, along with a branded Rotary Book Box or other display container (where applicable), and a set of quality book stickers, shortly before your Impact Day.
Your Impact Day is the day when you attend your designated school and pupils (with their parents/carers) come and choose a book each to take home. This should ideally take place between Monday 15th June – Tuesday 30th June. If you book a different date for your Impact Day to take place, please email impactdays@rotarygbi.org.
After the Impact Day we will ask you to complete a short post event survey – the more feedback we receive, the more we will be able to evaluate the impact of this new initiative and shape it for future years. This will help us promote the work you have done to support children’s reading enjoyment and literacy across Great Britain and Ireland and raise awareness of what Rotary members can achieve working together to support our communities.
If you are a direct member, before starting to register please contact your local Hub Team Coordinator to set up a Community Action Team. Or you can contact your local Rotary club. If you need more advice, email impactdays@rotarygbi.org.
This registration site closes on Monday 1st June 2026.
